Parambir Singh: Will Anil Deshmukh become Home Minister?

The Opposition has demanded the resignation of Home Minister Anil Deshmukh after former Commissioner of Police Parambir Singh alleged that he had set a target of Rs 100 crore a month for Assistant Inspector of Police Sachin Waze.

Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has refuted Parambir Singh's allegations.

Speaking to media, BJP state president Chandrakant Patil said, "It is very clear that this government is corrupt. The Commissioner of Police is saying that if the Home Minister had given the target for recovery, then what more evidence is needed so that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray should immediately resign Anil Deshmukh."

Allegations against Anil Deshmukh are very serious, resign immediately- Devendra Fadnavis

Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Praveen Darekar has said that the same Parambir Singh that Anil Deshmukh was following in the legislature is now speaking against Parambir Singh.  What does this mean?

Shiv Sena spokesperson MP Sanjay Raut has refrained from commenting on the case of Anil Deshmukh-Parambir Singh.  "I don't know anything about that. Any decision on this will be taken by the top leaders of the government," he said.

 Can Anil Deshmukh resign?

Political analysts say that the allegations made by Parambir Singh are very serious and there are signs that Anil Deshmukh will have to resign.

Senior journalist Sudhir Suryavanshi says, "Pressure is mounting on Anil Deshmukh to resign from the NCP after serious allegations by Parambir Singh.

There are indications that Deshmukh will have to resign until an impartial inquiry is held. "

Like Sudhir Suryavanshi, political analyst Abhay Deshpande has said that,

"Parambir Singh's allegations are very serious. He has directly mentioned Anil Deshmukh's name. Therefore, it is possible that Deshmukh will have to resign.

Deshmukh was questioned in the Sachin Waze case.  At that time, there was only talk of changing accounts.  But he is likely to step down as minister. "

 'Letter bomb of Parambir Singh'

Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has demanded Rs 100 crore per month, according to a letter written by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh to the Chief Minister.  The BBC tried to contact Parambir Singh to ascertain whether he had written the letter but could not be reached.

Meanwhile, Anil Deshmukh has taken to Twitter to make false allegations in order to save himself and avoid action, as the investigation has revealed that his involvement in the Mukesh Ambani case as well as the Mansukh Hiren murder case will be traced back to him.

Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh has leveled serious allegations against Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.  A few days back, Parambir Singh was transferred from the post of Mumbai Police Commissioner in the Sachin Waze case.

After the transfer, Home Minister Anil Deshmukh had given an interview to ABP Mazha and Lokmat.  Parambir Singh has written a letter regarding that interview.

After Parambir Singh's transfer, Singh, who was upset, wrote a letter directly to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and complained to Anil Deshmukh.

 Devendra Fadnavis demanded resignation

This is the first time in the history of Maharashtra that an existing official has written such a letter directly to the Home Minister of the state.  Former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Devendra Fadnavis today demanded that the entire matter be investigated by the central government or under the supervision of a court and that Anil Deshmukh resign immediately.

The letter, written by former Mumbai Police Commissioner and current Director General, Homeguard-Parambir Singh, is not only sensational but also very shocking, Fadnavis said.
